UPDATE OCT. 17:

GLENDALE -- Glendale police detectives are asking for help in locating a suspect they believe robbed two women at an ATM in front of a Chase Bank earlier this month.

Investigators believe the suspect knows he is being sought and is hiding to avoid capture.

Just after 8 a.m. on Oct. 1, a black male confronted two women near the ATM at 57th Avenue and Camelback Road. He robbed them at gunpoint and fled on foot into an apartment complex immediately to the north.

The suspect was described as being a black male in his 20s, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with shoulder-length dark wavy hair, some of it braided. He was wearing mid-length denim shorts with dark boxers underneath, no shirt, and bedroom slippers. He had several tattoos.

Investigators have identified the suspect as Cordero Holmes, 20. Although Holmes does not live in the apartments, he is known to frequent the area.

Police say Holmes, who was armed with a shotgun during the robberies, has a history of violent crime and should be considered armed and dangerous.

"We were able to identify Holmes fairly quickly in this case," Detective Bill Johnston said. "Unfortunately, we think people have told him that we are looking for him, so he has gone into hiding."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-3000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available through Silent Witness.
