YAVAPAI CO. - A driver nose-dived down a 900-foot cliff Monday night and lived to tell the story.
Yavapai County deputies say the woman drove her SUV off an embankment on Mingus Mountain near Jerome, which is southwest of Sedona.
Rescuers spent several hours trying to rescue the woman and finally managed to hoist her to safety. She was flown to a hospital where she is recuperating. Doctors expect her to make a full recovery.
It is unknown what caused the woman to drive off the cliff in the first place.
