More cuts could lead to fewer UA classesPosted: Updated:
TUCSON -- University of Arizona officials say a budget cut of 20 percent would be the equivalent to closing six colleges within the school.
That's what they've told Gov. Jan Brewer.
The governor recently asked government agencies to come up with plans for cutting 5, 10, 15 or 20 percent from their budgets as the state wrestles with an estimated $3 billion deficit in the next fiscal year, which begins July 1.
