PHOENIX -- State lawmakers are trying decide if they want federal money to help extend unemployment benefits for more than 33,000 Arizonans.

The funding would provide an additional 13 weeks in benefits this year.

But before the state can accept the money, the Legislature would have to change a state law on what would trigger the extended benefits.

Lawmakers were confused on whether they'd be able to change the law back to avoid paying the extra benefits after the federal money ran out.
