Manhunt for 2 suspects in armored car robbery

PHOENIX -- Phoenix police officers and K-9 units are searching a neighborhood near Ahwatukee for suspects involved in an armored car robbery Friday afternoon.

According to police, an armored truck pulled up outside the Desert Schools Frederal Credit Union at 48th Street and Ray Road. When the driver got out of the truck, two suspects dressed in black and pointing rifles managed to take his bag of money.

The suspects ran through a cigar shop next door and out the back door. They jumped a wall and went into a neighborhood.

Police are still looking for the two suspects identified by police as a white man and a black man wearing ski masks. Police say they are about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall.

The suspects drove a red Silverado 4x4 with license plate 046WSJ to the scene, but according to police, that vehicle was stolen.

Police say this is the second time this same location has been hit. The last time was in January.
