Man accused of tryng to break into homes, stealing bike

ARIZONA CITY - Police caught a man who was allegedly trying to break into homes and ended up stealing a bicycle.

Police in Arizona City say Joseph Montijo tried to get into a man's home in the 10000 block after a confrontation. The suspect reportedly fled after being confronted by the homeowner and went in through the back door at another location on Carousel Drive. The homeowner in that house also confronted Montijo and the suspect went into the back yard and then ran to the 9300 block of Tinajas Avenue where he stole a bike and was arrested shortly after.

Montijo was charged with 2 counts of residential burglary and 1 count of non-residential burglary. The suspect reportedly had 1.3 grams of methamphetamine and a pipe in his possession.

Montijo reportedly had a parole violation warrant against him for another burglary charge.
