Avondale police have arrested a woman in connection with the death of her 11-month daughter.
Ubaldina Limon-Sanchez, 26, was charged today with second degree murder following an investigation into the death of her baby, Maria Victoria Alvarez-Limon. Police responded to a residence in the 1000 block of S. Fourth Street on Nov. 25 around 6:30 p.m. to a report of a child not breathing. Paramedics on scene found the child non-responsive and not breathing. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
According to police, the baby was found to have a head injury. Investigators obtained a search warrant to collect evidence at the scene, and interviewed the mother and other people in the home. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Limon-Sanchez at her home this afternoon. The victim's two older siblings were placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.
