PHOENIX -- The state has officially rested its case in the trial of accused Serial Shooter Dale Hausner.

The conclusion of the prosection's portion of the trial comes nearly five months after the jury was selected.

The defense is expected to start putting on its case next Tuesday after a long weekend.

Hausner has told his attorneys that he wants to take the stand in his own defense.

That testimony is expected to start during the first week in February.

While the state's case took months to be present, the defense expects to have its case wrapped up before the third week of February.

During the state's case, prosecutors called the suspect's alleged partner in crime, Samuel Dieteman.
