Valley high schools on lockdown during police search

MESA - Four Mesa schools were taken off lockdown after Mesa police suspended their search for burglary suspects.

Spokesperson Diana Tapia tells 3TV an active perimeter in the area of Lindsay and Brown forced the lockdown of Mountain View High School, Poston Jr. High, Hale and Field Elementary as a precaution.

Police say the perimeter was set up after a homeowner returned to his house just before noon on Thursday afternoon and found three male individuals burglarizing his home.

The three suspects reportedly ran into the neighborhood and one of the suspects was apprehended.

Police, a SWAT team and K-9 units patroled the area looking for the two outstanding suspects for a few hours before stopping their search.
