Police say family is not cooperating

PHOENIX - A Valley teenager was shot in the head by one of his own family members, according to police.

Police set up their command post near the 1400 block of E. Diamond Street where the shooting allegedly took place. Detectives are still trying to determine exactly who shot the teenager.

Police believe it was a family member who shot a 17-year-old because there was some sort of domestic dispute but they say the family is not cooperating.

Police had a chopper searching the area for an unknown suspect. They also blocked off the street surrounding the family's home.

Authorities say the 911 call actually came from a family member inside the home. As of yet, police have no suspect.

The victim is reportedly in critical condition after being shot in the eye.
