PHOENIX - Police are requesting assistance in finding the men responsible for shooting and kidnapping a man near a Valley liquor store.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Antonio J. Saenz.

He is 5'8" and 309 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen being forced into a 2006 Black Chevy Tahoe with the Arizona license plate number ACY6186.

According to Sergeant Andy Hill, around 6 p.m. Friday Saenz was in his vehicle with a male friend in a liquor store drive-thru near the intersection of 59th Avenue and Thomas.

It was then that the suspects, believed to be at least 2 Hispanic males, rammed their car into Saenz's vehicle.

Saenz drove away, crashing into a loading dock.

The men got out of their car after the crash.

The victim's passenger ran away as at least 2 suspects faced Saenz, shot him and forced him into the back of a black SUV.

Saenz's friend is being questioned by police.

The friend has reported to police that he came into the country without legal documents about one week ago.

Blood at the scene has indicated to investigators that Saenz could be seriously injured.

Sgt. Hill says that the kidnapping could have something to do with human smuggling, an issue Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon is set to testify about before a legislative committee next week.

Investigators are asking that anyone with information that knows the whereabouts of the suspects or the suspects' vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately.

Anyone else with information that does not pertain to locating the victim can call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS, or for Spanish, 480-TESTIGO.
