Officials in Arizona, California and Nevada have agreed to participate in The effort will step up
enforcement on the river's 233-mile system, as well as waterways in 45 other states.
Officials plans to set up additional checkpoints and increase patrols Friday through Sunday.
They say they're looking for boat operators whose blood alcohol content exceeds the limit of 0.08 percent. Penalties could include fines, jail and boat impoundment.
