PHOENIX -- Thousands of Cardinals fans lined up at Sky Harbor to welcome home the NFC champions from their nail-biting Super Bowl game in Tampa Bay.

Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon kicked off the festivities with a welcome message, and then introduced team owner Bill Bidwill who got the crowd cheering 'lets go Cardinals' as the ground crew prepped the Northwest Airlines plane for the teams exit.

Briefly after the doors opened up, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer spoke to the fans followed by Coach Whisenhunt.

Whisenhunt thanked the fans for their support followed by Quarterback Kurt Warner, who was cheered by thousands as he took the mic and continued to praise Arizonans for their support through the Cardinals season.

Larry Fitzgerald got up and apologized to fans for not bringing home the Super Bowl championship, but gave a brief thank you for all the fans support.
