ADOT raises speed limit on I-10 Inner LoopPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Good news for those drivers who have a slight lead foot while driving on Valley freeways.
The speed limit on the Interstate 10 "Inner Loop" is increasing from 55 mph to 65 mph.
Starting next week, highway crews will install new speed limit signs on the stretch between the "Stack" and the "Split" through central Phoenix.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says the speed limit was lowered to 55 because of all the construction in the area, but they think it is time to raise the speed limit.
ADOT reminds drivers to pay attention since the change isn't official until the new signs are up, which they are estimating will happen as soon as Monday afternoon.
