UPDATE: Woman arrested for strip mall fire might be serial arsonistPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Investigators say a woman behind bars for allegedly starting a strip mall fire might be a serial arsonist.
Tiffany Jones is accused of starting a fire that tore through a strip mall at Central Avenue and Hatcher Road on July 14. A discount retail store, a pizza parlor and a coin-op laundry were destroyed.
Nobody was hurt, but it took firefighters several hours to get the flames under control.
Now the Phoenix Fire Department is trying to determine if Jones, 30, was behind three other arson fires, all at churches.
Those fires happened in northeast Phoenix earlier this month and caused nearly $2 million in damage.
