FLAGSTAFF - The following is a press release from the Coconino County Sheriff's Office:
Officers and agents from the GIITEM and METRO taskforces arrested Leon Richardson for felony warrants and possession of dangerous drugs for sale.
In a collaborative effort, officers from the Gang Immigration & Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission and the METRO Street Crimes Task Force spotted Leon Vernell Richardson, 29, of Flagstaff.He currently has warrants for his arrest on several felony counts of possessing dangerous drugs for sale.At about 7:00 PM he was taken into custody without incident at a Westside convenience market where he had stopped.
During a subsequent search, agents discovered about two ounces of methamphetamine with a street value of approximately two-thousand dollars and 400.00 dollars in cash. Agents are also working to seize the 2008 maroon Chevrolet Tahoe Richardson was driving.
The investigation remains open and other charges and arrests may result.
