NEW YORK -- Jon Garland pitched his first complete game in more than a year and Chad Tracy hit a two-run double as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the New York Mets 5-2 yesterday.
Miguel Montero had three hits and Gerardo Parra drove in two runs to back Garland, who is 2-8 in his last 14 outings even though he's compiled seven consecutive quality starts.
Garland gave up seven hits in his 10th career complete game and his 300th major league appearance.
The right-hander struck out two and walked none.
He threw 76 of 106 pitches for strikes.
Arizona leads the series 2-1.
The finale is set for 4:10 (Arizona time) this afternoon. Right-hander Dan Haren is scheduled to start for the Diamondbacks against Mets right-hander Nelson Figueroa.
