UPDATE: Bus driver cited in crash involving light rail trainPosted: Updated:

TEMPE - Based on information at this point in the investigation, traffic investigators have issued a citation to the driver of the Orbit bus for a red light violation in Tuesday's collision with METRO Light Rail.
There has been some misinformation floating around regarding the collision, so the purpose of this release is to ensure that the information reported to the public is accurate and up-to-date. Please keep in mind this is still an ongoing investigation.
At 12:57 p.m., a City Orbit bus traveling east on Lemon and a METRO Light rail train traveling south on Terrace collided in the area of the intersection. The collision resulted in four people on the bus suffering minor injuries.
There is only one person at this point who we can confirm saw the collision from start to finish. This witness has provided information that, in part, led to the red light violation citation being issued. No additional witnesses have been located at this time. TEMPE -- The Phoenix Fire Department and Tempe Police Department responded to an accident involving a light rail train and a bus in Tempe Tuesday afternoon.
Police say a short Orbit bus and a light rail car had a minor collision at Lemon Street and Terrace Road.
The train sustained some front-end damage. The bus sustained damage to its side.
Tempe police spokeswoman Katie McDevitt said two people were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
Two others were treated at the scene.
McDevitt said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
