PHOENIX -- Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked an early morning house fire in Phoenix Thursday.
Firefighters arrived on the scene in the neighborhood of 22nd and Oak streets at about 3:30 a.m.
The fire was quickly bumped up to a first alarm, which means more crews were called out. The flames were too intense for firefighters to go into the burning home. They were, however, able to keep those flames from spreading nearby houses.
Firefighters said it did not look like anyone was living in the home.
While the home was apparently vacant, it was by no means empty.
"This fire had a lot of fuel," said Capt. Courtney Jenkins of the Phoenix Fire Department. "There's a lot of contents inside [the house], furniture, things of that nature."
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
