DMX 'flies off the handle,' assaults officer, Arpaio saysPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - Rapper DMX could face more jail time now that he is charged with assaulting a detention officer.
The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was re-booked in jail on Wednesday.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio says Simmons stole a meal tray then threw it at a deputy on Sunday.
Simmons was sentenced last month to three months in jail on theft, drug possession and animal abuse charges.
If convicted of assaulting the officer, he could face a longer prison sentence.
