The 14 year old tried to run away from deputies but was quickly caught.

Inside the vehicle were several large bails of marijuana, weighing approximately 100 pounds.

The two suspects were turned over to the Department of Public Safety officials who hours earlier had tried to make a traffic stop on the vehicle in Casa Grande.

ORIGINAL: On 03/17/2009 at about 1756 hours a Sheriff's Deputy was heading west bound on the I-10 when he observed a brown 4 door passenger vehicle pass him at a high rate of speed in excess of 100 mph. The vehicle was observed by the deputy driving recklessly weaving in and out of traffic. The deputy proceeded to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle.

While attempting to stop the vehicle the driver continued on attempting to flee and exited off the 155A exit to Baseline Road. After exiting off the freeway, the driver collided with another motor vehicle who was heading east on Baseline Road. The driver continued on to the Arizona Mills Mall in the City of Tempe where it collided into a garage door and concrete wall belonging to Game Works.

After the vehicle crashed the driver removed his shirt and fled on foot through the mall. The driver was later seen by the deputy exiting the south end of the mall. The driver was immediately apprehended by the deputy and City of Tempe Police Officer.

During the traffic stop investigation it was found that the fleeing suspect vehicle driven by 14 year old and was loaded down with large bails of Marijuana found in the trunk compartment of the vehicle. The Marijuana found in the trunk was later determined by AZDPS to be in excess of 100+ pounds.

Deputies later found that the suspect vehicle initially fled from Arizona Highway Patrol Officers during a traffic stop along the I-10 near Casa Grande. Both the driver and passenger of the suspect vehicle were taken into custody by MCSO Deputies and turned over to the AZDPS.

AZDPS Officials assumed the investigation reference the bails of Marijuana found in the trunk along with the motor vehicle accidents committed by the driver.
