Changes to Ariz. Sept. 11 memorial almost completePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The revisions to Arizona's controversial Sept. 11 memorial are almost finished.
The structure, which is located at the state Capitol in downtown Phoenix, was dedicated nearly two years ago on Sept. 11, 2006 -- the fifth aninversary of the terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C. -- and controversy has surrounded it ever since.
Two inscriptions referring to an "erroneous U.S. air strike" in Afghanistan and Osama bin Laden's address to the American people
Two other inscriptions have replaced those.
In addition, a series of explanatory panels have been placed in a plaque along the walkway that leads to the memorial.
