PHOENIX (AP) -- Zach Duke won for the first time in a month and rookie Garrett Jones hit his major league-best 10th homer in July in the Pittsburgh Pirates' 10-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night.
A first-time All-Star this season, Duke (9-9) gave up three runs and 10 hits in 6 1-3 innings to win for the first time since June 24 against Cleveland. He struck out four and walked one.
Jones snapped a 2-all tie in the fifth with a two-run homer that triggered a four-run rally.
Ryan Roberts had two hits for Arizona, including his second major league home run. Miguel Montero had two singles and an RBI. Montero is hitting .373 with 13 RBIs in July, getting extended playing time at catcher while Chris Snyder is on the disabled list with a lower back strain.
