FLAGSTAFF -- A Tempe woman was killed by a train Thursday morning in Flagstaff.

According to the Flagstaff Police Department, Tahnee Dodge, 21, was killed while standing in the westbound railroad tracks just west of Milton Road.

The initial investigation indicated Dodge was walking in the snow on the north side of the tracks and crossed into the pathway of the westbound train.

Flagstaff police Lt. Michael Terrin said the conductor and engineer saw a person standing on the tracks, sounded the horn several times and the person did not move from the tracks.

Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dodge was a 2005 graduate of Marcos de Niza High School.

The crossings at Beaver Street and San Francisco Street were closed for part of the afternoon.

The investigation is ongoing.
