AZ pooch headed to prestigious Westminster dog showPosted: Updated:
TUCSON - A Tucson pooch has been invited to perhaps the most prestigious dog show in the country.
The 3-year-old dog is an 87-pound Bouvier de Flandres (BOO'-vee-aye deh FLAHN'-ders) named D'Artagnan.
He'll compete in the Westminster Kennel Club's dog show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Feb. 9.
D'Artagnan is considered in the top five of his breed in the nation. He's been featured on Animal Planet and won his first ribbon when he was just 6 months old.
D'Artagnan is co-owned by a Tucson breeder and a Phoenix couple, but he lives in Tucson with his handler, Tracy Turner.
Turner says she has high hopes for Westminster and that D'Artagnan loves the shows because he's a real ham.
