Early morning fire tears through Glendale homePosted: Updated:
GLENDALE -- Fire tore through a Glendale home early Thursday morning, forcing five people out into the cold.
It happened at about midnight at a home near 45th Avenue and Cactus Road.
All five people were able to get out safely.
Firefighters said it looks like the fire started in the backyard and spread from there.
"The entire backyard was on fire," said Capt. Michael Stein of the Glendale Fire Department.
While the damage to the house was extensive, no injuries were reported.
Crews were able to keep the flames from spreading to neighboring homes.
Neither the homeowners nor firefighters know exactly what sparked the fire.
