Mesa man gets 5 years for having child porn

PHOENIX -- A Mesa man was sentenced to five years in federal prison on Wednesday for receiving and possessing child pornography.

The U.S. attorney's office says 54-year-old Charles Brown was also ordered to be on supervised release for life after he completes his prison term.

Brown was caught in a sting conducted by the U.S. Postal Inspection service last year. A postal inspector posted an advertisement online for child pornography videos and Brown responded to the ad, paid for a video and had it delivered.

Postal inspectors searched his home the day the video arrived and found other child porn on his computer.

The case was prosecuted as part of a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
