FLAGSTAFF -- An Amber Alert has been canceled for a 6-year-old boy who had been abducted by his father in Flagstaff.
Ambert Alert canceled after boy found safe - A boy is now safe and his father is in custody after he failed to return the boy to his mother and threatened to kill him to police.
According to police, it involved a custody dispute.
The father, Michael Travis, 50, was supposed to return the boy to his mother at 7 p.m. Sunday, but he did not show up. Travis reportedly called the Flagstaff Police Department and threatened to kill the child and himself.
Police say they had not been seen in five days and Travis possibly had a .38-caliber handgun.
The father was found by authorities in Mohave Valley home. After a short negotiation the boy was releaed unharmed. His mother drove to the location to be reunited with her son.
Michael Travis is being held in Mohave pending criminal charges.
