According to a spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department, one person was shot and a second was somehow cut in the wake of a fight that started during a party. Police said it all started with an argument about prostitution.

The victims, a man and a woman, have been taken to the hospital.

The man was shot in the shoulder. The woman was cut when she jumped through a window to escape the gunfire. Both of those people are expected to recover.

Police are searching the neighborhood for five adults -- two black men and three black women -- to see if their stories mesh with what the victims said happened.

Two children reportedly were home at the time of the party and subsequent shooting.

No other injuries were reported.
