165 National Guard soldiers deploying to IraqPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A large contingent of Arizona Army National Guard troops leaves Phoenix Thursday for eventual deployment to Iraq.
The Phoenix-based 3666th Support Maintenance Company, comprised of 165 personnel, will head to Camp Atterbury, Ind., for 30-45 days of training and then travel to Iraq.
The Arizona Army National Guard says the unit previously deployed to Iraq from December 2003 to March 2005.
The unit, comprised of soldiers from throughout Arizona, will provide maintenance for a wide variety of items, including vehicles, radar systems, radios and small arms.
