PHOENIX -- Arizona is applying for $7 million of federal grants to help prepare the state to handle the swine flu during the upcoming flu season.
Swine flu funding
Arizona asks for swine flu funding - Arizona is asking the federal government for money so it's ready for flu season and the re-emergence of the swine flu.
Gov. Jan Brewer's office says roughly $5 million is being sought for work such as vaccine distribution and laboratory operations.
Nearly $2 million is being sought for a preparedness program for health care workers and for an education campaign. That education campaign would be aimed at educating people about when to seek emergency treatment, see their regular health care provider or just stay home.
