Tempe kids found safe after dad loses track of them - Police are questioning a Tempe father after he apparently lost track of his two young children.
According Officer Jeff Glover, a spokesman for the Tempe Police Department, the man called the police, saying he thought he put the kids to bed last night but might have taken them to a baby sitter's home in Ahwatukee.
Officers went out to the upscale gated community near Rural and Warner roads after the father called police to report his kids possibly missing.
According to investigators, the man woke up at about 10 p.m. and discovered the kids were not in their beds. He apparently made several calls to associates before calling the police.
The kids, a 7-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, were located safe and sound at that baby sitter's Ahwatukee home.
Police are talking to the father to try and figure out why he didn't know where his children were.
