AIMS test scores are up in reading and mathPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - It appears Arizona students are studying more and teachers are working harder.
AIMS scores improve
Students must be studying more and teachers working harder as AIMS test scores are up.
The 2009 AIMS test results were released at midnight.
It shows about 70 percent of the 550,000 students who took the AIMS exams passed the math and reading sections, that's up from last year.
But the writing section continues to worry educators, as only 75 percent of students passed.
Because grading the essay is subjective, state officials plan to revise the writing test.
It will include 18 multiple choice questions and an essay beginning in 2011.
