MESA -A Valley family who lost a son in a wreck is using the tragedy to help others.
Eighteen-year old Joseph Poirier was killed this week when his car collided with an SUV in Mesa.
On Sunday family and friends held a benefit car wash. His mother says all the proceeds will go to a scholarship fund to help those in need.
Jill Hansing, a friend of Joseph's tells 3TV, "He made you smile.He was there for you.You could call and he'd help out."
If you would like to donate to the scholarship fund, you can do so at any Chase bank.
The account is set up in Joseph Poirer's name.
