PHOENIX -- Sunnyslope pool is slated to reopen today, just 24 hours after fecal contamination was discovered.

Pool users received phone calls Monday alerting them to a "fecal incident" that happened over the weekend. The pool, which is located at Central and Dunlap avenues had to be closed for cleaning.

Crews treated the pool with chlorine.

Fecal matter has not turned up in any other public swimming pool.

Last summer, after dozens of swimmers got sick from cryptosporidium or "crypto," a parasite spread through fecal matter.
