12 Arizonans arrested in child porn case

PHOENIX - A dozen people accused of sharing and watching child pornography have been arrested across the Phoenix metro area.

The arrests are a result of a two-month joint operation between Tempe Police and the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children task force from early December until the end of February.

Investigators don't believe any of those arrested created the content, just had the images on their computers.

Police seized thousands of items in computer evidence in a sweep by the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children task force.

The suspects face numerous felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Several investigations are also ongoing with additional arrests possible.
