Suspect steals Oxycontin, Vicodin from Mesa pharmacyPosted: Updated:
MESA -- The Mesa Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who robbed a pharmacy inside a Fry's grocery store.
On Feb. 6 at approximately 8 p.m., the suspect entered the Fry's near University Drive and Extension Road. Detective Michael Melendez said the suspect walked directly to the pharmacy counter, displayed a handgun and demanded Oxycontin, Vicodin and Soma.
Melendez said the pharmacy clerk complied with the demands and the suspect placed several bottles in a brown paper bag he had brought into the store with him.
The suspect left the store and was seen by witnesses getting into the passenger seat of a newer model, white, four-door Chevrolet pickup with tinted windows.
The suspect is described as a white male, early to mid-20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, 120 pounds with short blond hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with "Skin" in large white print on the front, dark blue jeans, black shoes and dark gloves.
Anyone with information should contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
