Woman robbed by 2 men outside Sprouts market

The following news release was sent by the Surprise Police Dept.:

SURPRISE - On Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at approximately 9:30 pm, a woman reported that two male subjects robbed her in the parking lot of the Sprouts Farmer's Market located at 13759 West Bell Road in Surprise.Both suspects were described as Hispanic, in their early 20's of average height and medium build.

The victim stated that the suspects were standing near her vehicle in parking lot, as she was leaving the store.She went on to say that as one demanded money, she believed the other was holding what appeared to be a knife.The two fled the scene in a white pickup truck with approximately $10.00 in cash.The vehicle was located shortly thereafter, abandoned on 138th Drive, Surprise AZ. The victim was unharmed and the subjects are still outstanding and being sought by police officials.

Police want to remind shoppers to be observant and vigilant when shopping alone or at night. "If you see something or someone who appears suspicious, trust your instincts and get help or call the police" said Sgt. Mark Ortega of the Surprise Police Department."At a minimum, go back into the store and get an employee to walk you to your car."
