BLACK CANYON CITY - A man is accused of hitting the mother of his baby with a sliding door.
Deputies from the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office say on Wednesday afternoon they responded to a call of a family fight in the 19000 block of E. Abbott Street in Black Canyon City.
Marcus Ferguson, 38, allegedly became aggressive during an altercation and picked up a sliding door section and threw it at a 22-year-old victim and hit her in the head. She is the mother of the suspect's 8-month-old son who was at the home during the incident.
Deputies say the victim tried to call 911 but the suspect grabbed the phone and threw it at the ground. He then allegedly held her down on the floor and put a lit cigarette to her knee before leaving. The victim received medical attention at the house once authorities arrived.
Hours after the domestic situation Ferguson was arrested at a home in the 33000 block of Mud Springs Road. He was booked on several charges including disorderly conduct per domestic violence, aggravated assault and endangerment.
