Man gets prison for impregnating daughterPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- A Christian missionary who impregnated his teenage daughter has been sentenced to 12 1/2 years in prison.
The 44-year-old man was convicted by a Pima County jury last month of four counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of child abuse and sentenced.
Court documents say the 17-year-old girl called Tucson police last summer and told detectives that her father had been sexually abusing her since the age of 12.
The girl said that her father and mother were Christian missionaries who traveled from state-to-state and much of the abuse had occurred in Colorado and Arizona.
She became pregnant at 17, but had a miscarriage after her father instructed her to take pills he obtained in Mexico.
Last month, the girl's 47-year-old mother was sentenced to 1 year and 9 months in prison on a single count of child abuse.
