PHOENIX (AP) -- Mark Reynolds and Gerardo Parra each hit two-run homers and Parra finished with four RBIS as the Arizona Diamondbacks made it easy for right-hander Max Scherzer in a 9-0 win over Pittsburgh yesterday.
Reynolds' homer in the third inning, his 26th of the season, gave Arizona a 4-0 lead. Parra's fifth homer of the season capped the scoring with two outs in the eighth.
He finished a triple short of the cycle.
Arizona had eight extra-base hits, including a double and a triple by shortstop Stephen Drew, who extended his hitting streak to eight games.
The Diamondbacks won three out of four during the series.
Scherzer gave up five singles in seven shutout innings for his first victory since June 23 against Texas.
Arizona opens a three-game home series tonight against Philadelphia.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 at Chase Field.
