Pro Bowler Wilson hungry for Super Bowl ringPosted: Updated:
FLAGSTAFF -- The Arizona Cardinals handed out NFC championship rings when training camp opened.
But strong safety Adrian Wilson received something more valuable than jewelry during the offseason: a five-year, $39 million deal, with $18.5 million guaranteed.
It was a reward for sticking with the franchise that had drafted Wilson in the third round out of North Carolina State in 2001.
Wilson is the longest-tenured Cardinal. He once opted not to become a free agent because he wanted to be there when the once-woeful Cardinals finally broke through.
His patience paid off last season.
