TUCSON - Three people are dead after a car slammed into an ambulance in southern Arizona.

Police say the car ran a red light in Tucson Sunday morning, hit the ambulance, then both vehicles hit a pick-up up truck stopped at the light.

A 71-year old man riding in the ambulance was killed. He was with a friend who was being transported to the hospital.

Both the driver and passenger of the car also died. Two other passengers in the car were seriously hurt. The medics in the ambulance are okay.

Investigators are looking into speed and alcohol as possible factors in the crash.
