PHOENIX - Yesterday, Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers arrested Vincent Barnett, 21, in the 1100 block of West Wickieup Lane in Phoenix, AZ.Recently, a warrant was issued in San Diego for the arrest of Vincent Barnett for Rape by Intoxication, Rape in Concert, Kidnapping to Commit Rape or Sodomy and numerous other charges.

These charges stemmed from an incident which took place in May 2008 in San Diego. It is alleged that Vincent Barnett had met an 18 year-old female on the popular social networking site MySpace.com.Shortly after meeting on-line the two agreed to meet in person and attend a party. It is alleged that Barnett and an associate picked up the victim and after numerous stops the trio ended up in a travel trailer where the victim lost consciousness after drinking alcohol with Barnett and his associate.Barnett and his associate are accused of raping and sodomizing the victim while she was unconscious. The victim regained consciousness in the back seat of a vehicle where it is believed a third person raped the victim. This continued until the victim was left in a deserted business park wearing only a t-shirt and covered by a sheet. The victim was forced to walk barefooted to a gas station where she notified the police.

Recently Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers from the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force developed information that Barnett fled the San Diego area shortly after the incident. It is believed that Barnett has been living in the Phoenix area for the past two months.Yesterday, in a coordinated effort, Barnett's two associates were arrested in San Diego while Barnett was being arrested in Phoenix.
