Man fires shots at ex-girlfriend's house during holiday gathering

The following is a press release from the Surprise Police Department:

SURPRISE -- On January 7 2009, Detectives from the Surprise Police Department arrested 57 year old David Allen Wilson for his involvement during a drive by shooting, which occurred on December 24th, 2008 at a residence located in the 13900 block of N. 133rd Dr., Surprise Az.

During the incident, approximately 6 rounds of what investigators stated were to be .38 caliber rounds were discharged from what witnesses described as a white passenger vehicle that was seen leaving the area. During the incident, the owner of the residence had eleven occupants in the home during a holiday gathering. Several projectiles were recovered at the scene from interior walls of the residence. Additionally, five vehicles parked in front of the home that had the tires damaged/slashed upon police arrival.

The home owner and reporting party to the case advised investigators early on that David Allen Wilson was a possible suspect in the case, due to Wilson being the ex-boyfriend.

On January 7, 2009 Surprise Police Investigators served a search warrant at the residence of Wilson, in which information was gathered which was beneficial in locating additional leads for investigators to speak with friends close to David Wilson.

Investigators later located a weapon and ammunition from friends, which was determined to have been used in the crime.

David Allen Wilson was booked into the MCSO, 4th Avenue Jail facility on six counts of Aggravated Assault, six counts of Discharging a Firearm at a structure and an additional 5 counts of Aggravated Assault that shall be added for referral.

There were no injuries to any occupants of the home during the incident.
