PHOENIX - Some Valley bank tellers were tied up during a bank robbery on Thursday evening.
It happened at a Chase bank inside a Fry's supermarket near 30 th St. and Thomas. The tellers are okay.
Police say suspects stole what officers call a large amount of cash before disappearing out the back of the store through a security door. The store remained open through the entire ordeal.
Police are calling it a very "clever, gutsy" armed robbery. The suspect walked right into the store through the front door carrying a cardboard box. He was pretending to be a delivery man.
The bank employees apparently bought the story and let the suspect into their secure banking office. At that point he told them he had a gun and he used duct tape to tie up both the teller and the bank manager.

Police are confident they are going to catch the suspect because they have a very detailed description of the suspect.
He is described as an Hispanic man in his 20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall with a light complexion. He was last seen wearing beige pants, a dark blue baseball cap and blue rubber gloves.
