UPDATE: Suspect identified in elderly sexual assault, robbery

Suspect has been identified

The following UPDATE was sent by the Tempe Police Department:

Tempe Police have developed information leading to the identification of the suspect in the investigation of the sexual assault/burglary which occurred on 07-20-08 in the 6500 block of S. Cole Dr, Tempe.

On 07-20-08, the suspect entered the 73 year-old female victim's residence by breaking a rear kitchen window. The suspect was cut in an unknown manner during the forced entry. Once inside, the suspect demanded credit cards from the victim, he then sexually assaulted her. The suspect used the victim's debit card at a bank ATM in the area of Lakeshore Dr.and Baseline Rd. in Tempe.

Late in the day on July 22nd, information was developed leading to the identification of Graham Bussi Gravely (10-02-56) as the suspect in this case.

Gravely is described as:

  • a white male adult, 51 years old
  • 5'10"/150 lbs
  • Last seen with dark scraggly hair and a dark scraggly beard.
  • It is unknown if he may have altered his appearance.

Investigation also revealed that Gravely may be in a white 1995 Chevrolet Blazer displaying Arizona Plate ABT7643.

Investigators are not releasing further information at this time regarding how Gravely was identified in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.

The Tempe Police Department, with the assistance of other agencies, has worked over night and throughout the day to locate Gravely, however he is still at large.Information was received that Gravely was seen in Yuma, AZ Sunday afternoon, but his current whereabouts are unknown.

The Tempe Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating Graham Gravely.Gravely should be considered dangerous.If seen, do not make contact with him.Anyone with information on Gravely's current whereabouts should contact their local enforcement agency, the Tempe Police Department (480-350-8311) or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
