SURPRISE -- Two people were taken into custody after Maricopa County sheriff's deputies served a search warrant at a Surprise home Thursday morning.

It happened near Reems Road and Peoria Avenue at about 6:30 a.m..
Resident of the far West Valley neighborhood woke up to a huge law-enforcement presence, including a SWAT team and between two and three dozen deputies, scattered throughout the area.
When deputies served their felony search warrants at a home with about five people inside, the suspects refused to come out, resulting in a standoff that lasted for about an hour.
According to a man who was inside that home and detained for short time, the warrants were related to an identity-theft investigation.
"There were kids in there and they had a bunch of guns out," Manuel Stevens said.
Deputies were still on the scene at 8:30 a.m.
Two people were eventually taken into custody.
