No highway construction over holiday weekendPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- Drivers can celebrate the Independence Day weekend without Arizona highway and Phoenix-area freeway construction.
Highway construction is halted from Friday through Monday.
Although no closures are scheduled, the Arizona Department of Transportation is asking drivers to use caution in existing highway work zones.
Major work zone locations for improvement projects include Interstate 17 in north Phoenix, Interstate 10 west of Phoenix and Interstate 10 in the downtown Tucson area.
Drivers are urged to be prepared in the event of any unscheduled highway restrictions over the holiday weekend.
