Suspect wanted in Prescott Valley stabbing may be in PhoenixPosted: Updated:
The following is a press release from the Prescott Valley Police Department:
PRESCOTT VALLEY -- On 01-30-09 at approximately 0240 hours, Prescott Valley Police Officers responded to the 5500 block of Pawnee Dr in reference to a delayed assault in which a person was stabbed. Upon arrival Officers learned that a party had taken place at the residence with approximately 30 people in attendance. There was also a large amount of alcohol involved with the party.
At some point during the party the suspect, 21 year old Robert Murillo Jr. of Prescott, was involved in a confrontation with another adult male. During the confrontation Murillo stabbed the victim in the back with what was believed to be a knife. Evidence of the crime was located at the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for a stab wound to his back. His injuries were believed to be non life threatening.
The investigation revealed the suspect, Murillo, was also being investigated for a similar crime in Prescott two weeks prior.
Prescott Valley Detectives served a search warrant at a residence at Merit and 5th St. in Prescott, where the suspect was believed to be living. Detectives did not locate Murillo at the residence.
Robert Murillo Jr. is at large. He may have fled to the Phoenix area or out of state. There is an active felony warrant for his arrest with nationwide extradition. He is considered dangerous and should not be approached.
